Keeping People Connected

The Keeping People Connected project was co-designed and delivered by 12 local community organisations across Cumbria and the North East, in response the first wave of the Covid 19 pandemic.  The North East and Cumbria Learning Disability Network and Inclusion North provided leadership and co-ordinated the project. It is being reinstated in 2021 due to the second wave of the pandemic and the ongoing impact on people with learning disability &/or autism.

Keeping People Connected is designed to help people with a learning disability or autism to: Understand information from the Government, Connect with others to avoid isolation and get the support needed for other things in their lives.

Keeping People Connected is unique is so far as it enables support at right time to keep issues that potentially could escalate at bay; real early intervention. There is no eligibility criteria; aimed at people with learning disability/autism but no formal assessment to gain access and is delivered entirely by Community Voluntary Sector organisations around North East and North Cumbria.
