Children & Young People Procedure Passport

The North East and Cumbria Learning Disability Network, the Great North Children’s Hospital and family carer representatives are working together in 2022/23 to develop a Children and Young People Hospital Procedure Passport.

The passport will support children and young people, their families and the professionals who will be caring for them when they require general anesthesia / theatre for a procedure.

. The passport will focus on:

• Knowing the child or young person has a learning disability
• Reasonable adjustments
• Communication
